Family Weekend January 13-15, 2006

Mom arrived Friday evening after driving through some pretty rough weather and getting turned around in Easley, SC (rubber stamp shopping). We had a peaceful evening.
Saturday came in with colder weather and fierce winds. Doria, Collette, Moriah and Adrienne arrived from Florida in the late morning. Chris arrived shortly after, or was it before, I don't really recall. Caris, Summerand Thomas arrived within the same time frame, although I think it was before everyone else. Sandwiches and salads for lunch and then the women were off to Jessica's Christmas Wedding Shower.
Chris, Thomas and I stayed home and entertained the girls. Collette joined Chris and Thomas in a competitive game of dominos. I walked Moriah and Adrienne across the street to the school playground. Unfortunately for Adrienne and thankfully for me, Adrienne slid down the snake slide and landed in a puddle at the bottom of the slide. Her expression was priceless. That was enough excuse to cancel the playground and head back into the house and out of the cold windy weather.
Settled for watching "Finding Nemo" and then a short amount of time on the porch playing the bean bag toss game. Adrienne and Moriah managed to get me to take them back to the playground for a short time. Colette came over for a short time but decided it was warmer in the house. The women arrived back from Jessica's around 5. Caris and Thomas went back to his house and took Summer home. We ordered pizza from the Brick and enjoyed most of it, except the mushrooms the girls didn't care for. Chris and Mom went out for dinner for some personal time to catch up on time apart.
Patrick, Jessica and Stephanie arrived shortly after the pizza and joined us for dinner. We were then entertained by the girls with their winter hat fashion show. Soon it was bed time for the girls and time for Agrivation Rummy. Stephanie's brother Chris arrived in time to join the first hand. Mom and Chris made it back in time for the second hand with a chocolate cream pie (thanks). We cut the game short at 11:00.
Mom left Sunday morning around 9 and Doria and the girls followed at 10. Gin and I spent the rest of the day in our PJs taking naps and watching football. Not a bad afternoon with her team (Steelers) and my team (Panthers) winning their games. By the way, the remaining portions of pie and pizza were taken care of by the end of the day.
Thanks to all who made it here this past weekend. We enjoyed everyone's company.

Pat
